Raquettedacker nice work, the tracsled looks good.
-
Thanks. I just need to paint it and make a cover for the front..
-
Looks good.
I need to put some of those skid bars on the bottom of my DX. With snow not always being in the picture here, it's getting chewed up from dragging across dirt/rocks.
-
Ingenuity at its best!
What kinda speeds are you anticipating?
-
It’s geared way down so it has a lot of power for such a small engine..
With me and another 200 pound guy in it I would say about 8 mph..
-
Looks good.

These are the ones I used..

Thanks. :) I need to do something with it or I'm gonna end up wearing holes through it one of these next couple seasons. Rocks and that plastic aren't pals.
-
Awesome job Dom!!  Will be looking forward to the maiden voyage and how it works out for you!
-
Thanks Ed. Works good in the yard with me and another guy in the sled.
Hope your feeling better pal..
-
Great build Dom. Every year I threaten to buy or build one, always so many other things with my attention. Are they still under the registration radar in NY? Hard to believe the state hasn't jumped on the gravy train yet. And at a blazing 8 mph, better enforce helmet and insurance laws too. :P
-
Thanks.
No regulations yet. But I’m sure it’s coming..
On my way down to the school to try and make NY a better state.. @)

 Did my duty already.

Nice build Dom. You will really enjoy the effortless trips across the ice. Work great for hauling firewood and deer. I get a lot of use out of mine.
-
Stu dont you still have your wellcraft?
Thanks krisp... It should help a lot...

Yes sir! Calamity Bob is coming out of summer storage this weekend or next. It's perfect for early and late ice which is about all we get here. No good in snow over 10" or so. What I'd love to have the track sled for, is to fish your area without needing to drag a snowsled in a trailer up the thruway.
-
I can put this in and out of the back of my truck by myself… ;D
-
And still close the tailgate.. @)
-
  You are the voice of temptation Dom. ;D
-
Looks awesome RD! I've also been awfully tempted to make one. My buddy sent me this pic he stumbled across somewhere on the interweb... as a John Deere guy I love it!

That’s cool.👍👍
This is a prototype.
Go on track sled builds of the north.
I have less than $100 into this.
Wish I could post a video but don’t have a utube account..

Very cool build, Dom. As an owner of one, I would suggest shortening your hitch bars a bit. You are going to find that steering these is best/easier, the closer to the middle of your sled you can stand without having to reach forward for the handlebars.
But, like I said...very cool build! Thanks for sharing!
-
Props to you on a nice build, reminds me of one a relative had when i was a kid that had a kohler re-coil motor on it. Saw em coming from the other side of Houghton lake w/ the smoke trail , but it hauled what he needed
-
yes cool build. I cant wait for ICE ;D
