Was out on Fancher yesterday. This lake was open & refroze over. 4" of clear ice with 6" -8" of snow on top. When we cut holes the weight of the snow on top was forcing the water up through the holes. Makes for a sloppy mess to fish in. With more snow in the forecast doubtful the lake will make anymore ice. Side note we spudded our way on. Several guys came waltzing on after and didn't bother to even check. 2 went walking across the basin of this 30'+ lake across "virgin" snow cover. I told my g-son those are the kinds guys that end up in the paper. Oh and the bite was slow. Lots of lookers & no takers. Be Safe!! Mark
