I was listening to the scanner when they said they found 2 in the water and that they was headed in. I knew it was not good.

Open water few days ago, now some snow on top of thin ice. Hate to hear this.

yet another sad story. thoughts to the family and friends.

the ones we hear about are usually fatalities. think how many rescues there are we dont hear about, that could have been fatalities. we all take chances on the ice. some of us just take more. this time of year is when we should all take less chances.

how many of us reading this are going to make the news in the future?

It's dangerous, just like a lot of other things we do. Take all the precautions you can and limit your chances. Most of us know what we need to do to be safer. If you're reading this and do not, find out. It's all on here, stated many times. Some accidents can be prevented and some cannot. If you get in your car, there's a chance your going to get in a wreck, your fault or not. Do what you can to limit your chances and live life. God bless those that are loss and those that knew them. One of the best things we can do around here is be prepared with saftey gear and always fish with someone.

Sorry to hear this. Just shows that we ice fishermen and women need to be careful no matter what state we live in or how much experience we have on the ice we should always be careful and mindful of the conditions.

Another one fell thru yesterday. He was able to get back on the ice and get rescued. That 5 people in close to a week and 2 died. I'm not sure why people are still going out 5 miles with the ice conditions

Prayers to the family. I read the article i. Seaguars link... it was reported they were in 4 foot of water. Wow...just because its shallow water, dont assume your safe.
