You are certainly welcome to show....bring a little firewood if you have any. Other than that bring anything you would take ice fishing anyway.

Yeah, I run the downtown one, and its kinda what people recognize me as in public. "Hey! Its the Man Store Guy." I'm not in anyway trying to get free press or advertisement out of the forum, I just love ice fishing, and am trying to learn what to use, where to fish, ect. I am frustrated about coming home skunked more often than not. I figure if I hang out here long enough, and listen to what the hard core fisherman have to say, I'll figure this sport out.

Yeah, there's a learning curve. But the more you do it, and the more experience you get, the more fish you catch

Yeah, I am a little rusty. I fished all the time in high school, then went into the military for a few years and didnt get to do any ice fishing. its almost like im learning how to do it all over again. I did just buy a new vexilar, I just hope that I can figure out how use it to catch fish like everyone tells me that it is going to.

Just bought one not too long ago myself. It works awesome....you can see when the fish are there and ready to pounce, that's for sure.

Yeah, I read your post about it. I think we both bought ours on the same day. I can track my jig, and everything else, i just havent found the fish with it, but i have only used it at the causeway. I am sure when I hit the silos, I'll find the perch.

I will be there. What time is everbody meeting up? I am leaving Bozeman around 6 on Sat. morn. I think I have a couple of buddies coming with. I fished CF today and will be out there in the morning also.

Sounds good to me. I will probably put my hunter orange on when I get up Saturday morning so if people get there earlier, we can meet up if they want to. I am heading out tonight after work to see if I can't get on some ling.

I didnt do too well fishing on sat. I looked everywhere for the dudes in the orange, but never found them. I did see a couple out on the ice out at hole in the wall. I left the ice at 12:30 when I saw that huge storm coming over the mountains right at me. I drove around the campground , even the one by the store, where were you guys at?

I took my trailer out and parked it right the boat ramp by some trees. I put hunter orange on the door. We met there at 11 stayed around for about an hour then went to the hole in the wall and fished for a couple hours. Wiskeyandice, Rrfish and his wife, Jiggy and his wife, Walltrout and I were the only ones that we found or found us.

Fishing sucked. Wall trout stayed out all of Fri night attending tipups and a little jigging. Didn't catch anything until about 10 am and that was a small ling then a few mins later a small walleye. I think RRfish caught one small walleye as well.

About 2 or 3 on sat we moved to Duck Creek. Fishing sucked there as well. No fish at all but the beers flowed freely and the grilled brauts were worth the trip.

Let me change something here. The fishing was fantastic, catching sucked.

Well it sounds like you guys had a great time. We were out there but were down a little further by the dykes and catching sucked there as well. We caught two little trought and lost about 4 or 5 more. But at least the kids had fun playing on the ice.
