Fairly new to the area. What some good places to try through the ice other than the big reservoirs.

You have Wadsworth pond right on the west edge of town. Also if you do a little digging on the fwp site and the region 4 fishing guide you will find some state stocked farm ponds within a reasonable distance.

Other than the big reservoirs...hmm...Wad sworth is there indeed. It's mostly a miss through the ice, though. There's fish there, just tough to get them to bite usually. Head to the fwp website to find some small stocked ponds in the area. They have a great lake finder interactive map that you can select stock dates, type of fish, etc. That'll help your search. Unfortunately, outside of larger reservoirs, your options through the ice around great falls are very limited. Largent Bend lakes are empty...pelican point down by Cascade can produce occasionally, but otherwise, that's about it. There's a couple farm ponds 45mins to about 2hrs out that can produce sometimes, but nothing worth driving past the big lakes for. Bailey reservoir is an option, but it's hit or miss usually. Arod lakes has been struggling with fish populations the last couple years, but can still have good days, beaver creek up by havre isn't huge but can produce decent numbers of fish sometimes...really, just a lot of hit or miss through the ice. Good luck!
