Anyone ever use the Auger Sidekick?
« on: Dec 04, 2009, 11:31 AM »
Wondering if anyone has used this atv mount and what they thought about it. It is pretty pricey, but it would be nice for scouting. Let us know!
Thank God for Ice!

I saw that last year and was impressed; but felt it needed a little more something (so you didn't have to get off the wheeler to drill a hole would be really nice).
I have thought about manufacturing one myself but haven't got to it yet.

Same thoughts here. I was wondering about hooking up either the winch or a lever (like a lift for a plow) to pull the auger down, hook up a throttle cable and go from there. That was my throught process.
Thank God for Ice!

The IceGator would be a perfect candidate for this; or some other 12V electric auger.  The Gator could be removed to be used by hand though, and that the way that mount is designed.  You wouldn't need down pressure - just a way to "hold and lift the auger?  Just what I needed, another project just before "ICE-IN".  ;D
