Mason-Dixon Ice Team & Apology

Me and some of the guys made this name up a couple weeks ago to describe us Marylanders invading PA.  But, after thinking about it along with some of you PA guys comments, it seems logical that the name describes all ice anglers in PA and MD, since the Mason-Dixon line bordering states are both MD and PA... It could be a way to show our locality when we post on the General page to the rest of the country too.

Some guys even want to find out about making some hats or t-shirts up or something.  If we can get enough interest, I think that Scott might do it for us (have a logo made up and also put the Iceshanty logo on there too).

So, for now, I'm going to post my "crude" logo/avatar for anyone to use.  If you want to use it, then you have to edit your profile, go to the personalized picture section, check the box and type or paste the link below.

So, if there is enough interest, I'll create more of these to choose from with the same theme and make them a little clearer.  Gotta get my digital camera in order though.  I was thinking about the same color scheme but with the MD/PA state outlines... Or maybe 2 ice rods crossing... Any ideas?

yea ....I would be interested .....we could make stipulations like , you got to have at least 200 different jigs and be able to produce 10 different jigging rods at any given time ....and toke the oath not to possess or come in contact with any tip ups   jigger forever

Apparently someone was offended by my avatar.  My reference to Old Glory and the Stars and Bars was merely a description of the Mason-Dixon line and the fact that MD and PA share that border.  It has nothing to do with choosing sides on the Civil War or supporting any cause of the South.  I certainly don't want to hurt anyone's feelings and want all to feel welcome on this site.  The name will remain the same, but the logo will change.  I'm working on a new design that I think everyone would like.

To the people who were offended by the initial picture, please accept my apology.  My intentions were never to cause any racial tension, and if they would care to fish with me I would be happy to spend my time with them on the ice.  People who know me could attest to this as well.  Again, I apologize to anyone that I offended.
