can anyone give me some info on this lake how far from billings? what kind of fish? are they bitting? ice conditions? worth the drive? thanks

Sutherlan is about 150 miles from billings. There is trout and ling in lake. Should be plenty of
Ice as it is just around the corner from Newlan creek reservoir and Newlan has plenty of ice, maybe 14 inches or so. No idea how the fishing has been. Good luck!

I fished Bair on Sunday, which is just over the ridge from Sutherlin... ice was around 20" or so there... fishing was very good as well.

I fished Sutherland on Sat. and Sun. last weekend and the ice was 2 feet thick and clear. Caught 30 fish 5 were ling. 2 lbs. was the biggest ling.

fished sutherland on jan.14 caught 2 ling 1 trout only there for about a hour then went to newlan and caught a 36 1/2 in. ling

today caught 4 fish on dam end

Ya we were on the east end on Saturday fishing in 20 fow and only caught 8 trout, 1 ling and 1 whitefish! It was slow!! Thanks Mo.

for us they were under the ice were you could just see the bait

The only reason those other two caught something and i didn't. is because they were fishing two holes and i only had one plus i was BBQ polish sausage while they were fishing

Me and Garry, we just went on Sat. , I will let u know next time. I am going to Denver this weekend to see Vince and my grandson. It's my grandsons 4th birthday on Friday. I hope the ice holds up for the next weekend!! Maybe we should plan then? I was told by Ron that some guy has been to Cooney twice and limited out on ling, one was supposedly 9 lbs!!! See ya Mo.
