Lost Pistol Bit screw.
« on: Dec 03, 2021, 06:39 AM »
Hey All,
I lost my Pistol bit screw that attached the top chuck and guard plate. Do I have to get a replacement from Ardisam or would I be able to find a replacement at a hardware store?  Thanks.

Here is a parts list for the 6"......https://ardisam.com/parts/structure/2426 Looks like all standard go to the hardware store and get.
The same site has an 8 "  parts list if anything is different.
May your tip-up spool while your flag raises with hopes of landing the big one.

BOLT 1/4-20 X 1 SHCS GR8 BLK ZN F-T

could go longer and add a nylon locking nut and/or blue LOCTITE

Put a drop of Loctite on that new bolt too....and get a grade 8 galvanized one. No, not all are, either. ;)

If you are going the bolt and nylon lock nut ..As you may not be able to find a long enough allen type bolt..if so I would add a spacer in the recessed part of the auger .

I know this topic is old but I figured I'd add to it.
I just came up with a replacement wing bolt to replace the Factory Allen head screw. Feel free to message me for details.

Wing bolts  love Hoodie strings, , I've  always  got rid of em & used self tapping/ flush mount sheet metal screws through  the auger collar.
