Keeping fish alive
« on: Jan 01, 2018, 09:52 PM »
I am fishing in a tournament this winter in which you have to have the fish alive at the end of the day for the weigh in. My question is, what are ways you keep your catch alive all day while out on the ice?

Another option. Keep in mind the 7" is for a 8" hole and 9" is for a 10" hole. Or just use a 5 gallon bucket about half full of water.

Saw these at the St Paul Ice Show.  Pretty cool idea.  Might want to drill the hole away from the hole your using though so it doesn’t get hung up if you have a big one take a run on you right below the ice.  That was the only thing the guys said there.

My buddy tried his for the first time last weekend. Loved it, got home and purchased another one.

If the ice is thick enough half drill holes right next to each other, and the punch a small hole through with a chisel so it can fill up with water, and keep them in there.
