This isnt ice fishing but this is to give you a heads up on the schools that I am finding in Rock Port right now.
In 35-45 feet of water. The Perch are 5-15 feet thick. In order to catch the big ones, you'll have to fish 7-15
 feet off the bottom. I use bigger jigs with bigger pieces of Perch meat to catch only bigger fish. We have a
limit in my boat 101/2 inches and above. You can take and go anywhere with that depth and the Perch will
be there. You can PM me if you have any questions. The pic is of the fish we caught last week. Me and the
grandsons. We caught over 200 fish for the 5 of us. kept 60 to fillet 101/2 inches and above. It's going to

Right on! Pulled the ice gear out last weekend and started plottin' and plannin' for this season on the ice. This post now has me officially distracted from my regular responsibilities and dreamin' about crisp cold mornings on the ice.

Yes yes hard deck is coming. We are headed there tomorrow to get a cooler full again. I was hoping that this would stir some boaters to go out and get on them. In January on 1-21-23 I'd like to do a Perch Palooza. Im looking for about 4 cooks that can cook perch 4 different ways. I'll have some extra special gifts for the ones who dedicate and cook that day. Also some gifts for the ones who can keep on filleting so we can keep on cooking,and eating lol. I will have prizes for the Kiddo's. Let me kinow if you wwant to be part. Thinking we will also do some games like fastest perch caught, biggest perch caught, booby prize for smallest Perch etc. This will be a non entry fee (FREE) so we will not need any permits. Well we went back. We caught another 50 between three of us. But of course I only took my 10. Thats all I care to fillet in one setting. 32-35 feet was the magical depth today. I like to jig a couple feet off the bottom. You catch bigger fish. I believe there is so many fish in there they are going to stunt like what happened at echo.
