Title: Grand Lake

Has anyone ever ice fished grand lake before? i was thinking of heading up there sometime this season but i have never ice fished it so i was hoping for some tips. anything would be helpful. thanks

I fished it once about 2-3 years ago.  We parked near the marina and then headed across the lake.  I recall the deepest part of the lake being on my left (facing the open water near the spillway).  There were a few humps that the map showed to be 40 - 60 feet deep.  We fished there all day.  Saw a lot of fish on the Vexilar (had 2 going: FL-8 and an FL-18) but only caught two of average size (20").  Not a lot of fishing pressure that day; don't know how it usually is.

I have grown up, fishing there through the summer and I have fishind it a few times in the winter,,, I was recently up there for the tournament, if you fish out off of dyke #3 with a white tube jog and sucker meat its gaurenteed big maks all day long the makinaw go nuts for it we caught 11 maks in a couple of hours :)
