Spring season opens 3 weeks from today

When I first saw this discussion, I wished it was for the VHS minnow ban issue that was dropped. I would like to get rid of keeping these pieces of paper recording when and where I purchased my minnows. I have so many of those in my bib pocket I would find it hard to find the correct one if the DEC asked for it. Not that I have had a DEC officer ask for one in a number of years.

As someone who has been stopped and asked for receipts a few times. If you pull out a few reciepts for bait they don't even look at dates. If you obviously buy buckets of bait regularly and doesn't look like you catch your bait and you hand them a valid fishing licence your good to go.

I buy 2 pounds of minnows. Keep them in my own livewell. Never go to the baitstore all season. I don't care anymore.
