I dont recall breaking any hooks last year Phil!

Then you’re not fishing in the right spot!
I didn’t break any hooks last year though. Owner hooks are holding up so far.
let me guess using gamis! more brittle then glass those hooks are, owners allll day, straight eye with a clinch over a snell any day! better hookup ratio old school Mtk eeling trick right there :P

Owner is the way to be.  9/0 octopus, snell and an eel makes all the bluefish go wild.

I just saw the airboat headed out of MDB on the camera - hope it's a drill!

Anyone know where I can snag an old Shappell Rover 2.0 ? I'm interested in either new or used in good shape. Its not sold anymore so i'm working in overdrive to locate one. Bench seating.

you aren't kidding.  the last water temp i could find was 12/17 and it was 41. I would imagine that's dropped a bit with the recent cold spell

do you actually think that floating jet sled you made with pontoon arms on each side will work? the trolling motor you added for "ice trolling" was a nice touch, gettemmmmmm

Has anyone heard any new news on that hemoraging disease that was killing the perch and leaving blood spots on the filets on fish they were catching and throwing away. It has some big medical name and was big news last year but haven't seen or heard about anything further.

This is an ice fishing board. The mods should be shutting this post down! Just kidding Iowa, looks like a great day to be in your boat and successful to to boot. Making me think twice about putting the boat away before deer season..........

Yesterday was good too.  Water temp still 38.  Ran low on 2 stroke oil or Id be back today.  Some of the traditional hkt spots are void of lakers right now.  Only saw 2 boats all day.  Priceless.

Hi,

Newbie here. Since the lakes not frozen, does anyone know which boat launches on Lake George are accessible at this point?

Thanks
