Title: Burbot fishing in Baraga

thinking about trying a burbot fishing saturday afternoon and after dark. anyone got any tips or suggestions or want to join up and give it a try.

well tried the night fishing for burbot. what an experience. second fish i hooked, i fought for 2 hours and 8 minutes to only have it finally bust my line. Ryan and I did manged 9 burbot between us. All and all great time.

It sounds like you hooked a sturgeon. How heavy line were you using?

yea pretty sure it was a sturgeon and 6 lb on a 36" jigging rod

went back out wednesday night ended up with 2 and missed a couple.

Landed one early last night off of sand point in 65fow. Ended up heading home around 7. How late do people fish for em? Would shallower water be better durring the spawn?
