Title: Soooo I have two augers and........
Post by: fishingplumber28 on Nov 28, 2015, 07:57 PM
So I have a old jiffy 77 that has been awesome for the last 12 years and today it won't idle without choke. So I grab my back up auger a Eskimo with a viper motor that has sat for a year.....and the tank has a crack in it! I never use it....is this common? Next question my jiffy calls for 24:1, has anybody run that 40:1 fuel from Canadian tire?

if your jiffy says 24:1 id be sticking to that. you should be able to get a replacement tank for your eskimo from eskimo..

the old 24:1 ratio is  when using old school regular  2 stroke oil
the new suff you see out there in a small bottle is a synthetic oil and will work just fine at 40:1
If I remember its one small bottle to a gallon
Using this stuff you will find it will start easier and will not smoke ,this is what i have noticed with some of my older augers.

Have ya tried using Seafoam in it?.  My brother has fixed a couple chainsaws simply by adding that into the gas and I have heard of auger issues magically disappearing with the use of Seafoam.
