Go to Page 3, you will find Great Sacandaga Lake (BS). That arm of the lake doesn't get the fishing that the Mayfield/Northville/Sand Island gets. Some years the ice is late to form. There are a lot of places to park and access the lake, just go for a ride some weekend and check them out. Good Luck and Be Safe....h2l

Does anyone have an update on the ice after the week we have had with warm weather and rain? Any areas to watch out for or avoid?

We are going to go out tomorrow on the Mayfield side. Haven't been on the Reservoir yet this year and want to see how the water level is effecting things for the Challenge. Hopefully it stops raining soon and freezes up some overnight.

The ice is excellent from Edinburg south to north Broadalbin, haven’t been much north of the bridge but it looks to be just fine.14-16 inches of good ice.just beware directly under the bridge.

Just wanted to ask a question about jigging verses tip ups for walleyes. Do you have better luck on GSL for walleyes jigging or tip ups? I am trying to get into more jigging and less tip up use but have very little experience jigging for larger fish other then pan fish. Thanks for any advise. Stay on top

anyone got latest snow depths? hoping to get out with wheeler for contest Saturday and possibly even take the truck...….

thanks,

GitRDone--- never had luck with jigging much on this lake. seems as though fish are more spread out than typical jigging lakes like Oneida

A jig and minnow seemed to work best.

Just talked to a buddy at Lanzis 8 inches of snow.   Pretty thick.  Wheelers will be able to go just might be tough off beaten path.  Warm with rain could complicate with slush layer.   Or make it better

Random Question. For the weekend long Food-n-Fuel Tournament.... Do you have to be present to win door prizes / the big ATV/UTV prize?

Must pick up door prizes by 5pm that day I believe.  No need to be present to win the machines.  I looked all over to see if they posted who won the big prizes, but I couldn't find any info on who won what.  Maybe I looked in the wrong places, but I could find no info.

Think hes asking about next weekends tourny. Those names get drawn on Sunday, if your names called, ya go up front n pick a prize. If your not there I think you get skipped.
Utv might be a seperate raffle I think. Doubt ud have to be present.

I've been fishing that tourney for 15 years now. They have never given away ATVs / UTVs. That is the Walleye challenge, earlier in the year. Sometimes other organizations give away snow machines there, but that is not actually a part of the tourney, separate entry fee. Last year, the tourney gave away a boat / motor / trailer. The winner was there, so I don't know if you need to be present. Call Fuel & Food, the sponsor and ask them. Lou runs the tourney.

Hey anybody been fishing lately? Just curious how conditions are for the contest this weekend? Any snow on top or is it slick? I'm guessing the edges are still strong going to be very cold this week? Thanks jeff
