You do realize water weigh's 8 pound's to the gallon !!
The point is that an inch of water on the ice weighs a lot more than an inch of snow. Wet snow typically is 5-10:1, where it takes 5-10 inches of wet snow to equal an inch of rain. Dry snow is anything above 10:1.
