actually a video would have been better catching the big fella running off the ice and what he was saying about the weight on the line. and yea a skimmer is what we had quickly accessible at the time i mean we could have put a beer and he woulda been less disappointed but next time we will think of something better i hope. not sure what else we woulda had that we coulda tied on

Close. Even the flag was covered. There was nothing but the little orange bead on the tip of the spinning part sticking out of the snow by the time we found it.

I left it on there after I set it up. I use it to hold the flag and the reel horizontal so I can put it in my pack.

That ice was more than able to support my skinny butt wearing heavy clothes, equal to about 22 gallons of water, spread out over the surface area of my boot(less than 1/2 sq foot).
