This is the Mr. Heater wall adaptor for the fan. I know, it says 6 V/800 mA but with my Fluke meter it measures 11.7 V DC output.

If you are measuring it unloaded that is completely possible to read far more voltage.  When it is running the fan measuring the output would be a better indication of the true voltage the fan is pulling.

Now having said that Chances are running 12 volts (or running off a vex battery 13-15V) would not damage the fan.  Most of the DC fans will run between 4-12VDC.

That makes perfect sense. Yes, I measured it unloaded and it showed 11.7 VDC. I can't measure it while plugged in with fan running. My understanding about DC fans is it's worse to run them underpowered than a little overpowered. I don't know if when the batteries are running it and get weak if the fan has an auto shut off.

OK ..think I got a handle on this some what ..so running off a power bank would be fine .

what about running a Milwaukee battery with a Milwaukee power source via a USB ?

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Batteries-and-Chargers/M18-Batteries-and-Chargers/49-24-2371

You may PM me if I am clogging up this thread ..

This was may idea for the Power Bank

This was another idea ..is the step down needed for the Milwaukee power source ?

This is true when running say 10-20% of rated voltage.

running at 200% of of rated voltage would be more of a concern than running at 80%

I use a Fry Daddy now but Fleet had these in their ad today, looks perfect for a fish house. Problem might be it has two 1500 watt elements so that means 3000 watts to run both right? Can you run that on a 20 amp circuit in your home?

About the deep fryer. Just talked to an electrician friend. 2-1500 watt elements. 3000 watts devised by 120 volts  is 25 amps. A 20 amp circuit maxes at 20 only for a short time. So unless you have 2 circuits close it will take an extension cord. Not for me in a fish house with a 2000 watt generator.

Regarding the Big Buddy Fan.  The video with the step down is mine.   For what it's worth, it works fine, but honestly the actual fan is overrated and not worth the hassle.  I've been much happier with the fanless version and a cheap rechargeable clip fan.  Don't trip over yourself trying to find a heater with a built in fan.  They suck.

Hardwater - what do you mean by "HP"?  It looks like they have these and then the "Max Output"

Ahh got it.  The ones I posted are Ridgid, not Ryobi.  I have a 9Ah that went bad last year during a trip.  Ridgid replaced it, but I don't want to get stuck on the ice with one battery again (even if I don't use it).

That is totally my bad ..but still some good deals at HD  on both line ups .

Dont forget folks ..HD and Lowes have price matching..just watch Dewalt item ..sku and items tend to be store speccific  ..they may also  have a price match in store should the item drop in price in 30 days..may want to check on that to be certain ..and keep the receipt  ;)2

Don't forget, if you live in an area with a Menards near by, Home Depot will also match the 11% off when they are running that sale at Menards (more often than not it seems).

https://www.homedepotrebates11percent.com

Whoa. Do they send a voucher like Menard's too? And have you done this successfully? I have a few receipts to submit now...
