Salmon
« on: Mar 10, 2018, 03:49 PM »
Still found plenty of safe ice. We got 2 salmon a piece. The 16” salmon Sean caught went home with me to cook on the grill. He also caught 2 jumbo whites on smelt that he filleted. The 3 short salmon went back down the hole. Some tiny yellow perch were caught also. Not a bad outing!

Looks like a great day.  What part of the state and how much snow/slush/ice?  Trying to decide how far inland and north I need to go tomorrow.

Nice, good to hear the ice isn’t too bad, doesn’t look too swampy either from your pics.

Yes Bob, I enjoyed the one day the wife lets me fish. Spring trolling soon dressed with the same clothing as today. The only time I get my family to fish is when its 80* sunny .😂.

Nice work getting out there in this snow, hope you had a machine we were on foot in waterford area 18" ice 8 bad and 10" good. Couple more weekends fore sure edges were still holding tight. Hit tricky pond last week before the snow 16" ice edges were just starting to show.

Good day for you guys again!
May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung,
May your hands always be busy, may your feet always be swift.
May you have a strong foundation when the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful, may your songs always be sung.
May you stay forever young.

This trip on foot also. I wouldn’t risk putting my Atv on ice at this point in the season. I wouldn’t be able to see bad ice with the recent snow cover.
