I was actually just going to google/youtube this and watch some people do it. Never hurts to be a little extra prepared for bad situations. I'm also going to start carrying a 25 foot rope with some knots at the end so if someone else falls through I can at least throw it to them and attempt to drag them out of the water.

Make a throw bag for that rope. Tie a loop large enough to put a hand/arm through using a bowline knot so it won't slip. That way you can hold the lead end and toss the bag to the victim. I'd leave the knots off the rope so the throw bag will work the right way. You can most likely find a bag at your local thrift store for cheap. It will keep your rope dry, out of the way, and ready to use if you need it. Stay safe! Ski
