And another spot is Potters flowage at Merle Lamberdt park.thanks, know where bothe are use to fish Lake Lee a lot but havent in few years now and I camp and fish out to Lambert Park and fish off Larb hill road as well.just hope get good ice soon, seen few guys out on Lake Arbutus last weekend but didnt venture out.thanks for imfo.
Both lakes are very close to your location.
Black River Falls here,The north weeds are supposed to be good late ice, cause it's shallower, I would think it would produce year round. Alot of the ice fishing seems to happen in Brice Prairie, northern bays/sloughs of Onalaska. Let me know what yo think.
I fish alot in the Cranberry floages around here and a little in lake Onalaska.
Have some luck with panfish in the floages but would like to Know more about lake Onalaska. Ive mainly fished off of schafers landing. Would like more info!
Thanx and goodluck on the water!
I just joined the site a few days ago... I too am from Eau Claire. If anyone wants to get together and fish, just give me a shout out.I will fish for almost anything that swims.Paul

Well we'll all have to get together soon then! I'm in EC as well. Plan on hitting the ice as soon as I'm done running the dog on pheasants. Only been out once so far this year.

Used to live in New Berlin, WI. Now I am stationed in Great Falls, MT. Loving the hunting out here and just started ice fishing. Perch out here in some spots are as big as the ones on Lake Michigan outside Great Lakes Naval base...beautiful country but can't wait to get back to home of Miller and Johnsonvilles sometime soon.

wasn't he a senator? LOL!!!
I'm sorta partial to White Russians ;)
We don't drink on the ice so we have to make up for it once we are on dry land.
My partner will not clean fish until he has one in front of him. ;D

Anyone else from Chippewa or close around it?Yup. I'm back by the Mega Pick & Save off Woodward.
Isn't Wisconsin a suburb of Minneapolis? ;D
>:( Them's fightin' words right there Gunflint. Though I think the flatlanders from the South gotcha beat in presumptuousness. They believe they own the state from border to border. They're wrong too.
Can't fault you for trying, I guess you guys need to go somewhere to see a real football team ;)2 :roflmao:
It's OK Gunflint, he's a Packer fan too! :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
Just remember, you opened the door ;)2

Anything more on that subject and I am reporting this to the moderator. :o
The Moderator saw it and he has determined 2 things. esox_xtm is correct and that yes I am a Packers fan. Case closed. New discussion please. LOL !!!

I am now certain that the Packers' Deep State has infiltrated the management of this website to the detriment of those with 10,000 lakes that others can only dream of.
Even 10,000 is typical of our understated approach to life as we actually have over 15,000 lakes.
Apparently, all that is left for us is to pray for a miracle on the football field.
Not sure where you're gettin' yer numbers from GF. According to your own DNR MN is only at about 12K.
"In total, Minnesota has 11,842 lakes, which is about 3,000 less than Wisconsin’s more than 15,000.
But the two states use different definitions to determine what counts as a lake.
While Minnesota defines a lake as a body of water that covers at least 10 acres, Wisconsin doesn’t have a size requirement. A Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources online database of state lakes contains thousands of lakes less than an acre in size or unnamed.
Still, counting named lakes of at least 10 acres, Wisconsin has 11,981 lakes, 139 more than Minnesota, according to data provided by the Wisconsin DNR."
And if'n ya count the Great Lakes more of our state is covered in water than yours.
Go on if ya like, it's the deep end of the pool ;)2 As far as football, when was the last time the Queens won a Super Bowl... >:D
BTW, you didn't know that IS runs right out of WI? Yep, King Scott, reigning admin lives only a couple hours north of me. That's probably enough for this round. FWIW, as far as I'm concerned, this is all recreational BS (at least on my part) and you are always welcome here. General board, WI board, jump in where ya feel comfortable. Just like havin' folks be a part of this and relish those that like to "poke the bear" once in a while  ;D

Not yet. ;D Still getting balder but so far not too much fatter. Someday I might even cross the river and actually see what is on the other side.
Indiana. But I like to spend time on the wisconsin page. You guys have a much longer season. And better fishing.
And nice people who fish well, just not as well as people in Minnesota.

But when you try to explain that they always bring up something called “football.” What is football?
;D ;D ;D
Fine, but the problem is that I end up having to explain the finer points of ice fishing....
It seems a bit sad. ???
I respectfully disagree... C'mon, let's play. Name one, not three, not two, but one, 1, singular finer point of ice fishing you have had to explain to me.
Just one...
Go!!! :flex:
Don't forget which side of the river you're messin' with :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

BTW fishinator, welcome to the Wisconsin board! My apologies for getting distracted ;) Where do you guys like to fish here. You just hopping the border and fishing MKE/MAD or headed farther north?
Best of luck this season. Won't know till I get home but looks like we could have walking ice in the Lake Country by Christmas or a little earlier ;D

I am in the process of planning a trip to the Onalaska area mid February.

If you are feeling adventurous, fishinator, you might want to hop a littler further north for some real fishing.I have fished L.O.T.W. once. Stayed in a sleeper shack. Very friendly people and a beautiful area.
You would be warmly welcomed (at least in the non-thermal sense, otherwise we are colder than Wisconsin). Bring a warm coat. If you like football instead of fishing, Wisconsin is the right place to be.
We are Minnesota Nice... :) :) :)

I may not be so welcome after I tell you I'm a bears fan ;D
