i caught about an 8 incher while perch fishing way down low on the south end once. only time i have ever caught one with a rod and reel.

goldens usually hang out the same places bluegills and sunnies are. shallow weedy bays. doesn't seem to be as many the last couple of years.  small hooks and wax worms work well

 ??? ??? Just remember that Vt. Law does not allow you to move them from the lake you are fishing.  I'm not even sure that you can keep them in a bucket??    Seems silly but Vt. has difficult bait laws!!

I know a few people from Massachusetts that like to jig for gold shiners and save them in a giant livewell tank in their basement and use them for later. It's one neat setup but one that can't be done here in Vermont   :'(

 ::) ::) We have found a super OPEN WATER place to catch 4-6" golden shiners on the Inland Sea but it would be impossible once the ice forms :o :o   When I am crappie jigging and get into a bunch of nice goldens I just hate to think of tossing them back down the hole.  BUT I hear that people eat them??
