09/10 highlights
« on: Dec 05, 2010, 08:33 PM »
Lets hear some favorite memories from last years ice season while we wait for the ICE!
I remember a simple one. Tomahawker and I took mtm1218 ice fishing for the first time and showed him the vex, gave him a rod with a light spring bobber and turned him loose. I seen the spring rise on his rod and told him to set the hook.  He caught a 3 inch crappie in 40fow! The look on his face was priceless and I know that little dink is what set the hook on him. He went out and bought all the essentials and more for this year.
I will let Tomahawker or Icenutter tell the story of black mo. HAHA

For me it would be the 30" pike caught at Glendale on a Thompson spoon and a fathead, I was helpless when that thing went screaming off line under the ice.
Never get excited there's a reason for everything,I just don't know what it is??

The wife catching a 22" 6 lb largemouth at a small local lake.

Catching a 30" and 31" pike in the same day.

Catching a certificate pike and pickerel in the same day.

The wife and I catching 15 pike and 1 largemouth in 4 hours of fishing one morning.

One that stuck in my mind was a great day on Emerald catching crappie (and a jumbo perch) in the middle of the day. A resident of the complex walked out to talk  to me, and told me he had driven up to Tobyhanna to fish. :cookoo:  Managed to suppress my laughter till after he was gone.
