Starting a new thread for the 2022 season.

Hoping we have safe ice well into March this year.

Good luck, stay safe, and tight lines!!!

Any one have any ice reports around the Lansing area?

I'm planning on giving Morrison a try next Wednesday.

Checked Interstate today. Only light snow on top, no tracks going out. I took my spud but only went a little way from shore. Found 4" of hard ice. Just what I'd been hoping for. We've been lucky with little snow around here and this cold weather is doing its job. Getting excited!

Anyone know if Grand River bait n tackle is still open?

Last time I called, I did not get an answer or voicemail.

Thanks

Anyone going out tomorrow?  I haven't decided where I'm going yet.  Motz park, or maybe Saubee/Tamarock.  It's going to be cold, but I still plan on going early.  No shanty, but I do have a Hardwater suit to stay warm.

Late to the game this year...anyone hit round lake...thinking of round or Morrison on Saturday.

Went to Morrison this past Wednesday. Was there from first light till dark.
Caught 5 dinks out past the island in the first 20 minutes I was there.  Then spent the next 6 hours drilling holes (by hand, drill died on me) and hole hopping to the island and back towards the boat launch, till I found 17 foot of water again. From 2 pm till dark, about once every hour, I would find a pod of active fish. I'd catch 12 to 15 dinks, then nothing for an hour. Only caught 2 keeper gills all day.
By far my worst day of fishing on Morrison lake. Hoping it was due to weather system on Wednesday.

Yesterday it was about the same on Morrison. Horrible. Drilled over a dozen holes over a wide area in 17 fow and didn't mark a fish.

Lansing Hard water has been quite quiet this year. No one fishing this year?

Going to give it a try someplace tomorrow....... lake Odessa or Morrison.
