That changed years ago, guys used to run bicycle wheel rigs with 20-30 hooks

As a kid we had a neighbor that would put us downstream in a creek w/ waders & nets during smelt runs & rope an old style crank phone to a tree. It had jumper cables w/ lead weights attached that he threw in da water, couple of cranks later we'd catch da floaters & repeat till da bucket was full. Good times!!
