Maine > Ice Fishing Maine

heading up there for work tomowrow afternoon and hoping to fish the morning?   any safe ice left?  Thx in advance

Maranacook isn't usually that much different than Messa.  Maranacook at the south end had about 12" of ice over 50 feet of water on 3/17 and the shorelines were good.  On 3/21, there was 15" of ice at the north end, but by day's end the top half was soft and open spots were expanding and the shoreline was so-so in spots. Conditions are changing fast, so no guarantees as you know.

Agreed... changing too quick right now to say w any accuracy. 11 today on Cobbossee but getting on ya need rubber boots... tomorrow I may need waders to get on... getting down to the wire around here

Some of these lakes around gray Poland are losing 2" a day .and with spring holes and current before april we will have iceout in many lakes around Cumberland  and other counties near by and south. Lot of air bubblies forming in ice thats there , making in weak . not fun having to pull out someone out of slush!!!!!!!!!!!!
