Is anybody getting on 3 mile bay at the public launch yet?
Might go for a drive tomorrow and check a few spots, just wondering if anyone here has first hand knowledge.

I caught a Pike on Irondequoit Bay several years back that had the same condition by the looks of it. I posted a pic on a different site and some fellas commented that it was a spinal disease of sorts. I forgot what they called it and I can’t find it in the archives.

To answer my own question, no. The launch is wet with nobody accessing there.

Out on 3 mile point there are tons of vehicles parked on the rd getting on at 1 house, anybody know what the deal there is? Looked like way too many people to just be friends of the property owner.

Anyone not familiar with the st Lawrence river take extra caution.... the water was 6 feet low but they just started raising it recently .... it’s not helping the ice formation especially the edges....

i kept 18 crappie and 15 bluegill recently on black lake .....the water is low, which leads to the lack of fish in certain areas...

Hello,
was planning on heading north to Black Lake this coming weekend from a four hour trek. Was hoping to see if anyone on here could tell me how the fishing has been? Is it worth the four hour travel? lol A few weeks ago my friends were up there and did REALLY well on the crappie for two straight days and we usually miss the bite. Had some good luck here in WNY on the crappie a few weeks ago, but not so much lately. Any pointers out there willing to be given?
Be safe!

I have a cabin in that area on Joe Indian Pond and have always wanted to make my way up there in the winter to fish those reservoirs but after reading some of the posts on here about how the water level under the ice changes so much it's really changed my mind about it and how unsafe it could be. But if you go or hear any better reporting I'd love to hear about it. I wanted to try and make a trip to Cranberry Lake this year give it a go. Looks like I'm running out of time!

Yes what hole hopper said.  You have to remember that all those reservoirs are there to hold water to make electricity.  When there is a call for it they dump water.
When the going gets weird the weird turn pro.

Hey all, first time posting on ice shanty.

Any recent reports for the Saranac Lake area? I know there was a bit of a thaw last week, but I’m hoping with the current/incoming cold weather conditions will improve.

In the Adirondacks - Saranac Lake/Paul Smiths area this week. Slow going so far.

Did Turtle Pond yesterday, slushy with maybe 12” of good ice underneath. Anyone have any experience fishing there?

I didn't think Turtle Pond had any fish in it. Osgood Pond has Pike and perch and smallmouth. Not sure if you can ice fish Lower St Regis buy I've heard of 'world class crappie fishing' in Lower St Regis. That's how the gentleman put it when he told me. He claimed he and his buddy put them on there. I attended Paul Smiths in the late 1900's. Only ever fished it for Pike. Some nice pike in there.
