Comments: Thanks for the fast service! Your Whip Tail jig in fire Tiger arrived Friday, and I tried it out through the Tongue River Reservoir ice in southeast Montana on Saturday, tipped with a Gulp maggot. I'm happy to say that not only did I enjoy a fine dinner of perch and crappies Saturday night, but I out fished my two buddies, to boot! Your jigs work GREAT! I'm heartily recommending them to my pals and I'll be trying more patterns in the future. Thanks a million for making me look like a pro!

With the Hard Bead jigs, I'd be a little concerned about the beads taking up too much of the hook gap space for decent hookups.  But maybe it's not an issue.

Hi folks Pete here from Pete's Tackle shop. Well it has been a great ice season.

Lake Mary Ronan - Fishing very  good for perch word is you have to hunt the perch but when you find them it is great. I would start out with a Whip Tail Fire Tiger and or a Whip Tail Super Glow. Now if I found perch in shallow I would put on Lead Maggots either in Super Glow Green or Natural Super Glow or even Super Glow Red.

Smith Lake-Doing awesome for Jack pike ( small pike) it is also turning out Jumbo Perch. I recommend to take just a few perch out and release those over 12" this is so we can keep a breading population in this fishery. our Fwp. does not regulate the perch but does the pike with pike having a 20 fish limit. Now here are the jigs the folks are using out there with great success using  Sasse Glow Fry and Sasse Glow Sunnies in Super  Glow Orange Tiger, Perch, Super Glow Fire Tiger. or Whip Tails Green/Yellow ,Fire Tiger and Yellow/ Orange. Some folks have been using Quick strike Rigs for the pike.

Mc Wennegar Slough- Wow it is one of the best lakes this ice season it is producing tons of perch, crappie & Pike and a few nice sun fish. The folks are fishing crappie early in the AM. or 3:00 to around 7:00 PM. The perch are being caught all day and word is some are nice medium jumbos. Pike are running 3 to 10 # with some real hogs coming out to. There using Pete's Tackle Quick strike rigs. Perch and Crappie there using Sasse Glow Fry in Perch, chartreuse green tiger and orange tiger there also using Lead Maggots in Super Glow Green , Super Glow Red and Super Glow Natural. Now I'm hoping to see you out there.

Rogers Lake- Now this lake usually ices up first and produces nice  Cutthroat & Gray ling but there are a few guys going out the and doing well there using No-Name jigs in purple & Black. There also using Lead Maggots in black and Super Glow Green.

Here are the new Little Foot jigs. They wont be online this season but you can purchase them at Snappy's for the rest of this ice season or call Chancy at 406-257-7525 and get them through Snappy's
I chose to do this because these little buggers aren't easy to produce and the rest of the lines must be taken care of so I can get your orders out the next day after receiving them.

Well folk we here at Pete's Tackle Shop are so excited for this early, But we are always concerned for our customers safety. The reason for this Post was on Ice Shanty Montana, is that it looks like we lost some fishermen in Glacier Counties Mission lake. Ice safety 1, pics 2, through bag, spud bar and life vest. Last year we had a local walleye angler go through on late season ice on Four Horns lake in Glacier county. Folks lets be safe out there and not push our limits.

Pete's Tackle Shop has brought out three new jigs for this ice season. The Willow Minnow & the Tail Dancer  & our newest one Pete's Slab Slayer These Jigs will soon be posted in my shop for you to order. We are working on Production so when you order they can be sent out the next week day. Coming Soon to my web store.

What are the best Pete's Tackle lures for walleye?

badgercaster...Chancy's Crappie Candy is great for walleye. Either the 3'' or 2 1/4'' are great baits. Pete has many different colors to accomodate to the baitfish in your area. Use your favorite jig head in 1/8th oz., or 1/4oz. I prefer Petes Premium jig heads myself, they have a very sharp Matzuo hook that sets very well on walleye. Hope this helps

Well last weekend the Perch Assault was canceled so we had a little side tourney and the Lead Maggot (http://petestackleshop.com/product/lead-maggot/) won the tourney again that jig is money in the right hands.
Anna McComb took 1st and her husband took 3rd

Hi Pete, got some of your lead maggots last year and had a question on how people tie them into there set up?  I like fishing a dropper is that where I should use the lead maggot or above my spoon or jig?

You can do it either way. I like to use a Polymer knot and tie in a lead maggot about 8 inches above my jig. But I also have had success dropping it about 6-10 inches below a flasher as well. Both presentations work well, it just depends on the day and what is going to work.

Petes Lead maggots work great when placed under an attractor, I also use them by themselves when the bite gets tough.  Ive watched many fish come into lead maggots, the slim natural profile looks very similar to a mayfly larvae or a large fresh water shrimp!  Make sure and get yours today!!!  I love the red and pink!

I use Pete's Lead Maggots all the time. Always use them by themselves. I like the white glow ones. I tip them with a couple regular spikes & recently had good luck tipping with a couple red spikes. I seem to have the best luck jigging them very lightly as well. Pete makes some great tackle & it's nice to support a sponsor of our board/fellow Montanan. Good luck to ya !!

Salmo406, Pete makes a quick strike rig with red hooks, they work amazing!  as for jigging, I would lean towards some of his 3" crappie candy piggy backed (one on top of the other) hooked on a 3/8 oz. jig head.  I have caught a lot of different species using crappie candy!  P.S. I love blue!!!
