I am in the market for a good pair ice fishing bibs and jacket. There are so many to choose from. Does anyone recommend a specific brand and style? Thanks
-
Striker Predator hands down best setup ive ever owned. Kept me warm in -10.
-
Striker predator for me, great bibs and jacket. Highly recommend

3x

I got the Striker Hardwater bibs, I wanted the heavier duty material, and the Predator coat. Striker definitely lives up to their claims for keeping you warm and breaking the wind.
-
How do the striker predator fit. I usually wear a xl shirt and 38 waist. Do they run small, large, or true to size? Thanks
-
I'm the same close shirt 38 waist and 6' tall
I have a cl jacket and xl bibs
They fit great
-
Dam fat fingers sorry xl

Striker Hardwater Jacket and Bibs. Yes they are extremely warm, especially when walking, but I appreciate the extra warmth when sitting for a while. I also liked the heavier denier fabric that they use versus the Predator and Climate. I was just with my dad who has an Arctic Armor suit, and he will be upgrading to Striker. The
beer pop holder party trick was the cherry on top for him.

Thanks guys, I found the predator on bass pro. $219 for the jacket and 239 for the bibs.

I just bought a Striker Predator Set a few days ago. I also tried on the Hardwater version. I usually wear size medium and the Predator jacket ran smaller, while the Hardwater ran true to size. As far as bibs go, they all seemed to run larger than normal. A small actually fit great. I didn't have to use any of adjustable inseam at all. (5'10 and 155)

If you're an XL I have one on the sale board.

Hey Guys:
Trying to sort through the myriad of choices in the market here. What bibs offer the best blend of warmth and float ability? I know some of the float bibs aren’t that warm.
-
curtrein, i,m from pa. too, about 50 mi. north of you. we prolly fish the same lakes. i have the Striker Predators and am very happy with them. plenty warm for here.(he77, i wear them in mn. and n.d. ,n, keep me warm there.) wire

I'm also from Pittsburgh, probably fishing the same areas, I will also be running the Striker Predators.

Add your location to your profile ...so members can get a heads up on your conditions ...also maybe a deal in your area . Go to BPS and try on the sizes ..see which one you prefer...sizing seems to be the biggest concern ...do not forget you can mix/match coat and bibs sizes/models...good deals can be had on line .
good video on the SI line up

You should consider bibs that may save your life. I've ice fished for 59 years. Never worried about falling through and I'm safer than most, respect the ice and know bad ice. Do yourself a favor buy Striker bibs. Very warm nice features and they float. At least it may give you time if something bad
happens.

Plus 150g from the Surefloat. Their Climate suit without the liner is their lightest suit. Was hoping the Trekker would be lighter. Love my Climate suit but sweat my ass off.

Thanks for the intel guys! Looks like the Striker Predator bibs should be the ones I get. I usually fish North Park, Moraine and Keystone but looking to branch out a little this year to hit some new places. Love this forum! Best fishing forum out there!

Striker hard water jacket in bibs here in NY, fish from the finger lakes to northern NY and over to the Bay of Quinte. Use to wear mustang suits, now the crew all has striker. Any way you go it's a piece of mind in the event you do go through.
Good luck, stay safe and on top!!!!

You ice fish the Bay of Quinte up here in Ontario (east of Toronto)? Then I assume you are fishing for walleye/pickerel then:-)

Striker is a very popular one. They're marketed like crazy so everyone always seems to just consider them and the Clam Ice Armor suits.
I went with the FXR Excursion jacket and bibs and have loved them! So warm I hardly sit inside my hut anymore lol.
-
You can't go wrong with striker.
-
X-2 on the FXR jacket. I also have the Hardwater bibs. I think the FXR is better quality though.
Better stitching and zippers.

Man you guys sure make a fella feel left out. I've been running ice armour blues for years, and was planning on replacing them with another set of blues. I know they're not floating or as heavily insulated, but I always dress in base layers before I even put the suit on, then it's mostly just for a windbreak.
