The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

There are a couple of lakes just across the border in NJ that have BIG pike and lake trout.  Eastern PA doesn't have much of a selection.

Not sure where you are but I'll echo the sentiments of the other posters.  Pike basically don't exist in eastern PA.  The only place I've ever caught pike in eastern PA is on the north branch of the Susquehanna River.  I'll get one or two every weekend I'm fishing it in the summer.  Surprisingly, the size has been very good (usually 25 inches or better) but I'd hardly call it a fishable population.  1 fish every 20-25 hours isn't great.

If you are in the southeast part of the state in Bucks County there is a private lake club on the Delaware river near Bristol PA that has a reasonable population of pike - some of them big.  It's the Penn Warner club and it includes Van Sciver Lake.  I believe an annual (basic) membership runs over $300 and does not include boating privileges.  If you add a boat, I think it's a few hundred more.  I've fished it a few times as a guest of some members and can tell you there are some very nice fish in that lake - especially bass.  IMO, not really worth the money but I'll happily fish as a guest when the opportunity presents itself.  One other big drawback - the club is at the base of mount Levittown - the giant Waste Management landfill.  I've never found the club to be dirty or have smelled the landfill on the handful of occasions I visited but perhaps the wind was in my favor those days...  Needless to say, it's basically a catch and release lake only.

Penn Warner is private but really your only option for steady Pike.  Hopewell has pike but very Very few and far between anymore.  Ontelaunee has Pike as well Slocum is a no go musky no Pike

completely depressing about the east, although had a 29" musky today.  Had a pickerel about 20" with a fresh bite mark across it's back.  Wish I would have had a chance at that one!
