I recently bought one of the Jason Mitchell model spring bobber rods and it came with a pair of Clam reel bands on it, they’re similar to the 13 Fishing bands except they suck.  My reel flexes and spins on the rod.  I’m either going to swap them out for wrap or use 13 Fishing bands.

I am very impressed with how secure these hold my reels

I agree, the set ups that I put the 13 Fishing bands on have been excellent.

Remember this S Show of a thread?

So season 2 with the wraps, they are showing signs they want to tear, (stressed white showing through  the green) so I taped over them. 2 seasons tops I guess. The tape was just as easy and more secure, back to tape.

So many good comments deleted, reading back through

I love the 13 Fishing reel bands.  I just bought a multi-pack and it was the best $10-ish bucks I've spent for ice stuff this year.

I use self adhesive silicone tape, some call it Tommy Tape. It stretches and holds well when cold and leaves no residue when removed.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Hockey tape for me. I have it on a rod for 5 seasons now and still good to go.

I’m gonna bump this thread up every year and see how many guys I can get to tell me what they use that has nothing to do with the original question of if anyone has tried these anchors and if they liked them. It’ll go for eternity  ;D :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Oh you're supposed to stay on topic here?
But I thought you'd want to know that my wife's pony tail hair elastics work just as good. No?  ;D

Deet sucks.  Made me very sick.  Had no idea all those nights in striper land were poisoning me.  Eventually noticed the spray pattern of the stuff on my arm where the skin was pretty much burnt.

Yeah no good way to do it, I usually wear my bibs and a hoodie with the hood on and just spray my hands but you sweat your mermaid purse off

Lobster claw bands have a limited life, if I try to use the ones from the year before, 3 out of 4 break when I put them on a tool..

Wane had a ace bandage type wrap on his jigging rods, it's something he got from work, it looks like the perfect solution... it's got texture and is self adhesive, but not stickey..I'm raiding the medicine cabinet at work today I'm sure he will chime in

I picked up several of the 13 bands ...I must say they were quite a struggle to get them on ...anyone have a suggestion or two for an EZPZ way to get them on . They do seem sturdy enough to keep the reel attached . The instructions seems simple even a cave man can do it ...I may be too far up the evolutionary scale ..it was not as easy as pictured .
