19 Mile Bay - I would not say this is the best on the lake by any means, however good parking, easy access, ice has been good for a few weeks, seen Quads and even small cars on it already. Reports of a few very nice Lakers already this year. You can catch Perch, Lakers and WP. My group got 1 nice Laker and a big slime dark a couple weeks back  - about 250 yards right off the beach.

Here’s a tip: watch out for the bubbler by the mount washington. And even though you know better don’t “just go check” that gray ice over there... I tested it last year and it’s f***in cold.

Feels good to get that off my chest.

Like an AA meeting... oh... wait...

Where's it located? I mean I've got maps and stuff but I just don't have time between beers and chocolate frosted donuts to check them out...

This is what Winni looks like on the last day of the Derby every year. We picked all this trash up on our way off the ice behind a bunch of drunken idiots pulling a sled with their off-road buggy!

Caught this one out towards the Broads, Cal the snake, rat, scum bag disqualified it from winning Rainbow that tourney for “ unsportsmanlike Conduct” because I called him out on not coming through with his promises. I also took grand prize on Lake Trout, still waiting for those suite tickets to Loudon! Probably sore when I told Gerry Gappens he was a kiddy toucher

This year I caught my first two lakers ever on Winni in the same bay, one jigging and one on a tip up. I caught both in under 30ft of water and was taken back because most information I've read up on lakers people are suggesting 30ft +. I tried my hand on Alton this weekend targeting humps and ledges a little deeper (as most information would suggest)  and couldn't even catch a cold. Is it very common to catch them in under 30ft of water in a basin as I was? Or should I still spend time targeting slightly deeper water (30ft+) ? Any information would be appreciated, Thanks!!

This time of year they can be anywhere. Find food, find trout. I cover a ton of depth ranges until I find active fish. Also, there are a lot of great tips on lakers to be found on YouTube but they don’t fish the same lake to lake necessarily let alone across the country.

Technically she was a 19 year old pro but yeah that might have frosted him a lil...
That tourney was worth the $5 just for the conversation value lol

It is common! I’m glad you went unlike the guys who ask about Alton bay then don’t go or finish it with 5 other threads asking about different areas before they tried with the info they got from the first!

Yeah I guess she was Legal but if you factor in Dick Bakers ice making formula between his age and hers it puts him on to catch a predator if he’s above a certain elevation

How the F do you get "unsportsmanlike conduct" in an ice fishing tournament, short of stealing someone elses fish or crapping down thier holes?
