Great job on the brown guys. Good to see that you were able to get out. Would give it a shot today but i have to do this thing called work.  >:(

Where did you fish? How much ice was there? Will you take me? What color underwear did you have ? I'm
Not trying to steal anyone's spot  ;)

In the water. Enough to fish on. None. ;D Sorry Frank I couldn't resist. Way to tag out on the deer hopefully they are all cut up and in the freezer. Just finished cutting the wife's up. Good to see the site getting active.

Hey all.. been playing on fishing NF for the past couple years.. I'm on it often for open water and have been dying to get on the ice there... I just moved up here about 25 mins away so planning on doing so often this year. I've been following the NFC thread since early last year and sounds like a great group of people for sure, which often makes the trip no matter what is caught (or not caught... ). Hope to meet some of you soon and contribute any way I can...

Good to hear Beerhog! 4" of ice is good to hear. Congrats on getting out.

I was on some thin ice this weekend. Got to watch some folks walk across the pond never putting their chisel to the ice till they got to the other other side where they cut holes to fish out of. Thought there might be a rescue. I was wrong, guess the best way to use a chisel is to carry it across your shoulders. So when you go through, it will catch on the ice. Been doing it wrong all these years.

Took some really cool video footage, will post up once done.

Stay tuned....

Sorry for posting in the group but I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm not looking for anyone's honey holes or anything but was wondering if there were some small ponds with enough ice to fish this weekend? I'm from southern, Nh and we barely even have snow! I was think goose pond? I've fished it in the summer but never winter. Any type of response or personal message would be great! Just a college student looking to get out on the ice before I have to go back to school.

I suppose i could tell you there is plenty of ice or none. Either way you shouldn't believe me or just take my word for it, you should go out and check yourself.

Truthfully i really don't know, Sorry but good luck and be safe.

12/22/2014

Today I took Laker Taker waaaay out of his comfort zone and went to Dag's Bait and tackle in Auburn Maine to get our augers tuned up etc...

Laker Taker was surprised that the world is actually not square but round. He doesn't venture very far ever. I've been trying for years to get him to go to Kittery or Cabela's with me but to no avail.

As usual Marcel took great care of us and got all of our augers running like brand new, we brought up 4 augers. Got to see his new work shop and the education you get from Marcel is second to none. That's what I really enjoy about Dag's (Marcel), he takes the time to educate you while working on your augers. You can clearly see he is the best in the business and explains every step so it makes sense. He knows his stuff when it comes to augers.
Next we spent some time shopping in the store. The thing i like about Dag's bait shop is that he has everything we fish for and fish with. Tailored to fishing for trout and lakers (togue) as well as other species. Ice fishing stuff galore! You can't or I can't just leave, i have to check everything out and there's a ton of stuff to look at.

Fair prices, excellent service work, friendly educational service and awesome store stuff to look around at will always keep me coming back. Even if it is a 2.5 -3 hour drive one way, it's one of my yearly trips i look forward to.
I know Laker Taker is already talking about going back too. This speaks volumes coming from him, the guy that believe there is nothing south of Concord (kidding, sorta), just the edge of the earth. He now knows there is Dag's Bait and Tackle.

Too funny.

Thank you Marcel and crew at Dag's for making this a great 1st time experience for Laker Taker. It was like X-Mas came early for him.

Cheers!
