Good to see that you guys are getting some sap!  It's been so up and down in terms of temperature...must be hard on the trees and hard on the syrup boilers sometimes.

Any idea how much longer the season will last?

Season really hasn't started up here yet. We had a small run in feb. and then one day so far in march- If the season starts at all it will be late:(

Past week ive had steady days of about 15+ gallons...some days better than others, yesterday I got 25 gallons. It certainly has been a strange season!!!

I think you must be far enough south and benefiting from the slightly warmer temps. It was so cold every night that even with the warm during the day it never unlocked

Had a pretty stellar week collecting sap and making syrup...yesterday the SAP TSUNAMI officially hit me and I ended up with 75 gallons of sap.

I also did some tweaking to my evaporator to get the boil a heck of a lot faster by adding a squirrel cage blower.

Here are some pix of the blower, the steam clouds, the sap, and the finished product!

The blower, had to reduce the air intake because it was TOO STRONG
