I was so excited to show off my first fishies of the year, but there are so many new topics that I hate to add another. Well, I don't really hate it that much, because I'm doing it anyway.

My first ever pickerel

Perchies! Ladybug fried them up nicely in the cast iron skillet.

I found a way to say I caught an 18" perch.

Okay, they were 11 and 13....

Thanks everyone, for seeing the only fish I'll catch all year and complimenting.

Tippy, 3 perch on tip ups, one jigging (as seen here) with Grampa Sven's hand-me-down jiggin rod.
The pick hit just as I set a tip up back down. Flag almost took my eye out! Missed a bunch too. First time chasing flags!

Oh, and a special thanks to Dullhooks, Surflizard, and the random guy I met for the info on how to fish for warm water fins.

That picture reminded me, Gretchen mentioned to me a couple of weeks ago that she came out onto the ice one day and found a guy with 5 brookies in a bucket. When she questioned him about it, he said a couple of them were from yesterday and the rest from today. He had his son with him. Then he hurried off to another spot on the pond. If your reading this.....smarten up. You don't want to mess with Gretchen, she might "wish" bad things on you.

Know the limit guys. 2 per day per person. Cant have yesterdays fish with you....."witch" I would be wondering why you would want to anyways. I'm pretty much a catch and release guy myself. Take a pic and bye bye but that's me.

Not saying this was you NHSlabbinCabin in any way but the picture reminded me of our conversation. Thought I would mention it.

Great picture of some nice brookies! Great feed! Nice chisel too.
