Arrgh, was planning to come up Saturday but my better half is going away for the weekend and I'm staying home with my daughter and the dog. I can't complain though, she let me fish 8 weekends in a row. I think I owe her a few weekends. Might have to be sick during the week for one last ice adventure. Good luck to all, stay safe. Looks like we are all set for Sunday the 27th for the Get Together. Getting on seems to be good and should be somewhat warm however the wind is hovering around 15 mph.....which I guess we should be used to.

I just got back from my bait box and it turns out that I have a few more smaller suckers than I thought. Not many but probably enough for Sunday. I still suggest bringing some bait (smelt or shiners) and if you need big suckers, get those too. I only have some smaller ones.

Bring grills, byob, food & whatever makes you comfortable. I'm marinating up some chicken to put out and maybe a pork tenderloin if someone wants to tend to it.

I'll double check again tomorrow afternoon and update one more time but I'm pretty sure it's a go.

I saw Psycho today at the gas station....we all but high-fived about the end of the year get together! So we'll be seeing him and Butterfly out there too!

Did you do the belly bump with Psycho? The arse rub? The reach around? The good weather dance? Instead of the high five? The "all but" in your comment got me thinking.....I got all the moves.
It wouldn't be the same without Psycho and family. They were there at the beginning.

Going out now to put out Laker Takers house off of Wulamut. I keep hearing that you can get on at the town beach. I dunno.....will in a bit though.

Don't tell Houndog.....he'll bring his monster house out too, he's ballzy.

Just got back from putting Laker Taker's house out. Me and Taint fished in my portable for a while in shallow water with no lakers in sight.

Very windy out today which kept it cold. It's supposed to be the same tomorrow. It'll be tough fishing for sure. Prepare yourself for cold and windy conditions.

Got on and off at Cummings with the snowmobile no problem. Laker Taker took his wheeler out and didn't break through at Cummings either. Conditions are perfect for riding a sled or wheeler once on the lake. There is still 15" of ice out there.

My truck will be parked at Cummings with suckers in the back. Help yourself to whatever I have left and then come on out.

Hopefully we'll last longer than noon time. But it is supposed to be pretty breezy. We will be out there around 6:30-7. You might see me later in the afternoon.

03/27/2011

Sorry this is late.....

Sunday....

Got up this morning and heard the wind chimes chiming on the porch next to my bed room, usually a sign that I should stay in (during open water fishing) as it's never windy at my house and if the chimes are chiming....well......I knew it was windy and most likely cold out.

CH and I got everything loaded and off to Cummings beach, got there at 5 am. Unloaded the snowmobile, sled, all our stuff and got it ready to go. We decided to have another cup of coffee inside the truck while we waited to see if anyone was gonna show up. It was cold and windy out.

Close to 7 am, Troutfreak and Maggot showed up ready to go so off we went. I was surprised to see more folks coming out too when we got off of Wulamut. (I launched from Cummings beach).
We all got our lines out and portables set up and managed to keep them on the ice without blowing down the lake. Very slow action day, no one got any lakers so we decided to call it quits at Noon and head back to my house to finish the rest of the day off. (Sorry, cant show those pictures).

All in all it turned out to be a good day, would of preferred no wind but what are you gonna do. It was fun to see everyone that did turn out and was fun back at the house till wee hours of the night. Not so fun this morning.

Great job Troutfreak manning the grill, you have a full time job now at the house CH says. Thanks Laker Taker for bringing over a grill, deep fryer and Lovey. Thanks to all that showed up to the get together at the lake and back at the house. I'm sure next year will be better conditions and fishing, but I doubt it could be any funner.

I'm not quite done just yet either.....

So this morning I was alittle slow. Took the day off to fish and get Laker Taker's house off the lake.

He had just moved it when I got there to the north end of Mayhew and as I was ready to come into the house, he pulls up a laker.

Had some breakfast and sure enough he pulls up another laker.

Just before we left, again he pulls up another laker.

We saw a few on the camera today but all the pictures I took didn't come out very well.

Glad I came out to take pictures for him again. I was nice and quite out there. Conditions are perfect for ATV's and Snowmobiles. Very windy though as usual.

The house came off easier today than it did when we pulled them all off a few weeks back. Hindsight I should of left my house out there but who could tell how the conditions would be.
