 Not this guy, I had my shot and yesterday was it. I will be keeping my eye's on the post's and plan on at least one more trip before the ice gives way. Good luck everyone.

I decided to head north after getting only 50 or so smelts in NH. Great bay=34, oyster=9,squamscott=11. We drove up to Bath and boy did we whack em. Went up Fri. morning and got there around 9:30. Didn't get our first fish until 12:30. From then on till 5:30 when we left we were getting mostly doubles and a few triples. Both me and my buddy left the ice with a 6gal. pail 3/4 full. 411 for me and 447 for him. He had never fished in Maine before, always NH for the last 37 years. Now I doubt he will ever fish here again. It's well worth the 1.1/2 hour drive to get there. We fished out of my portable shack downriver from all the rental places. The only bad thing about fishing there is that you have to put up with all the plane noise from Brunswick Naval Air Station. But feeding a couple of bald eagles a handfull of smelts made the day!

So the smelts are in bath ME? i know ME is blowing up..  but Nh is just as good with this month here!!
i been doing good just about every night! ill hit anywhere between 20-80 a night on average!!

We fished tonight and got one lousy fish. Pretty slow night. After we were set up for an hour we noticed we were off our usual line...Oh well next time maybe. Waiting further up river for the run.........

i had a total of 39 in my bucket tonight!!! not to bad  it was a little slow but the late tides are stating to happen!!! full moon is comming be ready.. follow the tides tomorrows strike is going to e around 5p-730p  get set up before then and you will be golden!!

Up to the left of the gang plank, by the ice block wall? Poor old Al; the only adrenaline rush he got was when the guy below him snagged his line and pulled his pole in the water! :laugh:

Al's loss was temporary; the culprit returned it.
