Posted a remote camera panner with my vexilar fish phone last May. Although vexilar camera works OK decided to build a camera that was not quite so cumbersome to use and improve picture quality. Liked the wireless and remote ideas but cable unwind when camera deployed took a bit of time, desired better color and resolution.
My camera with 100 ft cable is on a 4" reel which also contains the electronics and power to remote connect to a 7" wireless monitor. Also have wifi to connect to smartphones and tablet. Added a flasher running on my tablet housed in a Husky bag

Made this mostly for S & G but should at least stop the line from freezing to the ice.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy fishing gear....and that's kind of the same thing.

I actually created my very own LED Boat Catcher, before I create this I have questions in mind,
What makes LED lights better suited for my vessel?
What LED light color is best for fishing?
Will the LED lights help me attract bait fish around my boat?
So I ordered LED lights on this site. Might as well share it https://www.sompor.com/ then place it in front of my boat. It's color blue then make sure that my bait is near the light and guess what it works well but the problem is I need to go out every night to catch fish and that's insane. haha

The stand I made. I like having the tip up flag because sometimes I have 250 yards between my poles, and when a laker has 150' of line down a hole it's sure nice to wind it back up with a reel, plus you get to play the fish. The only down side is these things haul terribly in your sled. I carry 4 of them. They are the unruly children of the gear in the sled. They tangle up in every thing in the sled. Or some how manage to fall off silently right after you do your look back, so that you don't notice until you have to walk back 50 yards to pick it up.

The pole I made out of a broken long pole. It's bowed because there was a 5lb brown on it, first day out no less.

How does the flag get tripped?

How does the flag get tripped?
The line is put under part of the rotating piece. It appears to have white thread wound on it right above the front legs. That part only turns 90 degrees and is the flag release.
The end nearest the camera (or us) is cut at an angle at the flag pole release point. The flag goes under on this side ~ the line, the far side.
I have more if you have any doubt.    ;)2

Same idea as The Ice Rigger.

Just drilled 12 holes on the weekend on the lake i usually put my hut, and only found 6" of ice.
6 inches of fluffy snow is keeping the lake from making any more ice.
Not enough for my liking, need at least 10". its a big hut .
estimate it weighs 1000lbs.

This is not winter related..  kinda is but any how here is a pier cart I am working on..  thought I would share with people what it looks like..  so far have rod holders mounted and the theft protection almost done..  the theft protection is that metal strap across above reel .. to prevent lift and run stikes while at pier wile back is turned... but I am sure some one will want this on their ice shanty mods most of all when in the back of a truck?? Or similar snowmobile etc?? You would have to remove reel and steel rod /reel ... making more complication now for thefts  to happen.. . I fabbed the holders to the hand truck also fabled the rod lock.. etc oUT of steel from hardware store .. also got a milk crate that attaches to front and hold gear .. also planing some sort of tackle box for the cart along with the magnetic tool holder bar on front of milk crate .. still in planning stages  but visualization is what I though it would be.. still have to weld a hinge to the rod lock and add a hole were the pad lock goes.. any how enjoy the picture..

marcum flashers are square. They fit inside tidy cat cat litter bucket. I cut a different bucket down, pop riveted it on, added some insulation so i have room for an extra battery and bait. Toss a hand warmer in and I'm set.

The wife didn't like it either. Thought about spraying it or maybe fishing stickers. As long as it keeps my battery and bait from freezing I'm good.

I could always paint it silver.😀

Tidy cat buckets are great. Battery is inside, USB and 12v accessory outlets on the front. Green and white LED lights just above the outlets. Camera mounted by way of a RAM mount. Rod and skimmer holders bolted to the sides. The mandatory beer holder. Top of lid has a sunken in cup for a transducer caddy and a cup with a screw on lid for transporting a few minnows when hole hopping.
