Greenback cutthroat

Always good to hear that a species made a comeback instead of going extinct! And as a feel good bonus, it’s the state fish!

What they don't tell you is how many lakes with large fish were poisoned just to stock greenbacks.  Trade 4-6 lb Cutty and bows for 15" greenbacks.  :P

Sorry for not clarifying Slayer...To your point I don't chase the smaller cousin. Much prefer the Snake River Cuts and Cut-bows.  Was fishing 2 weeks ago with my wife and she nailed one of the 4-6lb (Cut-bow) you mentioned on a dry in shallow water.  Quality fish.

THEY. They are always in the way. They are always the culprit. Would be a better world if there weren’t so many theys. That’s what I say. Maybe they say that to.

It's a blast to catch and release true native trout in the little streams they live in.  There's still so much water with the big non-native fish.  Win-Win.

Are people really advocating for letting species die out because they think other species are more fun to catch? I'd happily never fish again if it meant more diversity and less species going extinct. I don't think I'm that important in the scheme of things.
