I was wondering how thick the ice is down in southern Iowa...I was kinda wanting to make a run down towards the osceola area but didnt want to drive 2 hours and get shut out with no ice...
Thanks

Well, as of saturday west lake was almost completely open water. But, with this weather, in a week and a half or so they will have super good ice in southern iowa. SOme places on west had a skim already, so they may get it a little earlier. Acutally, I am glad they were open...that way it will ice hard and good ice rather than that snow/slush covered insulated ice that can be a little more iffy.

Fished Hooper(just S of Indianola) on the 10th. Had about 5-6 inches but haven't been that way since, hope this helps. If you get down to West lake please let me know, I might be interested in meeting ya over that way.
