I don't believe its photo shopped. I've seen ice that clear before.

I have seen ice like that a few times on a really clear water lake. I had to make the ice crack in order to see how thick the ice was. Otherwise the ice was totally invisible.  Btw when I did make a crack I was shocked that the ice was almost 6" thick.

Yep, gotta love black ice on clear lakes and ponds. Just love it when I can see the weeds and the fish swimming beneath me.

I didn't think it was photo shopped (for the record).  I remember catching Pike on tip ups through early ice like that.  So cool to see them rocketing around in a circle before coming up to the hole.

Two years ago we had ice like that on one of our lakes, here in Northeast Ohio. There are 8 lakes in the chain and it was the only one like that. Had between 6-8 inches of ice and you could make out individual rocks in 14-15 fow. Was spooky walking out at first but the real spooky part was when you returned from deeper where you couldn't see the bottom and then all of a sudden you took a step and there it was. There was about 10 of us and in 4 hours I think there 3 fish caught. A few of us moved to another lake where you couldn't see thru the ice and caught a mess of fish.
