Looking at the Alton Web Cam, it looks like an airstrip is being plowed right now.
I took a ride up to Alton today from the parking lot it looked like the air strip was there. I saw riverrat out on the ice feeding the seagulls. I didn't have time to go out and chat.

OH it looks so cool with all the bob houses out there. I'll have to come down and look at a the shantys and say hi Riverrat. Really only come to Alton Bay a few times a year. Even though I'm on the Gilford/Alton town line. The Zorros Shack will lanch this weekend around noon at Smith's Cove.

Arrived at the shanty this morning to find the runway plow crew ready to go. I stood my ground and they graciously plowed their parking area south of my shanty and put the runway a little more east than normal, thanks guys I appreciate that. Started the day off with a 22" laker followed by a 22" pickerel an hour later. The noise of the plow trucks running back and forth and the ice cracking did not seem to bother the bite. And Yes I was feeding the seagulls they were hungry and I had just what they wanted, small perch and laker innards. Not a bad day if you stayed out of the breeze. Going out Sat. see you out there. Ice = 14"
