"High" speed chase
« on: Feb 05, 2013, 10:51 AM »
Was fishing Winni yesterday and I see a camper flying across the ice at 30-35mph. It was weird, going straight as an arrow like someone was steering and had the gas peddle punched. My bud asks if I think I can catch up to it with the Argo before it hits the open water by the docks or the rocks on shore and I tell him I'll give it a go! My plan was to pull in front and try to let my brakes stop both of us but I was running out of ice so I got along side and bumped the rear quarter just like you see in cop chases on tv. Worked like a charm, it skidded sideways and spun out about 50 feet from the rocks. Wish I had it on video!! I called Huntr and he got a message to the owner. A little excitement in an otherwise windy and slow day of fishing.

What does it say about America today when a show like Honey Boo Boo is even on TV let alone watched by millions. Sad!!

Thanks for the kind words all. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Deerme - the argo only reaches about 35 mph and you can't chain the tires because they are so close together.

Good thing it came to a stop before you had to shoot the wheels out from under it,Pretty good pit manuver for an argo paul. When I called the guy he had no idea because his buddy borrowed it.How the hell did it get there he asked? I don't know where was it I asked. He had no idea where it was anchored..Lucky for him we have the argo ranger on duty.Who was that masked man? I don't know he only left six wheel tracks and rode off into the sunset.

Too funny! And 6 Wheels, you are the MAN!  You must have been amazingly fast mounting Silver, I mean your Argo. You really did save the day.
Hope you are thanked many times over.  :)

Well I couldn't save them all. There was a silver bobhouse about 2 miles away cruising from Black Cat Island headed East at a good chip. No idea where that one stopped.
