New fishing regulations?
« on: Dec 29, 2017, 11:06 PM »
I was just checking out some lakes on the dec website brushing up on regulations. For example when your looking at the Great Sacandaga Lake and click on the “ special fishing regulations apply” it’s only about trout size and limit.Under the state wide regulations it doesn’t show ice fishing for walleye or pike . Just trout and pan fish .... so are pike and eyes off limits this ice season? The website even looks different in that section . Maybe I’m looking at it wrong ,but I couldn’t find pike or walleyes open for ice fishing ....anyone ?

You can fish for pike and walleye. DEC puts up only the trout regulations because trout season in general is closed in ny state. Most waters that are stocked with trout are off limits to ice fishing. Sac is one of the exceptions. Your fine to fish for pike and walleye
