my 4 year old and I slayed them on Baxter.  I think we had one that broke 7", otherwise I think 4" was the average.  Either going to Green or Rush in the morning.

Biggest one of the night was pushing 10 1/2 , they bit from about 2:00 till about 6:30, but there was a TON of people on the lake

Green was awesome for me last year, but we stayed away from all of the people.  Then all summer, it sucked.

Did good on a west metro lake yesterday.  Caught around 40 crappies in 20 minutes... weeded through and walked away with our limit of medium size.  Gills and pike had the feedbag on as well.  Had to stay away from the crowds.  Other's weren't catching much at all.

We were in about 14 feet of water, and the ice seemed pretty good, seen one soft spot, but there was a full sized pickup driving clear across the lake

People get pretty goofy about driving on that lake. I saw an old timer dragging his shack out with a Farmall tractor a few years back, there was not more than 6 inches of ice. :-\

I'm with you skipper. I was planning on fishing yesterday and today. Yesterday I didn't feel like driving in the blizzard and today it's just too cold with the wind. If I had a permanent I would probably do that but sadly that's not the case.
The best thing about ice fishing is that when you get on a good bite you don't have to worry about your beer getting warm!

Out on the St.Croix river 7:30 to 6:00 only 6 six crappies and 2- 14 inch sauger. 2 of the crappies were 12 inch.
My first outing with my new Canvas Craft 8x8 with norpac insullation. Man what a  shanty, stayed warm and only had the big buddy on low had to turn up to medium when the wind started kicking up and no condensation!

Buy a trailer.

Once you get one, you wont know how you lived without it. I put the Voyager in the back of my truck because it gets less road spray, and the wheelie goes on the trailer.

I second that!!  Now I just need to move into a town that allows me to store a trailer outside of my garage.

I'm thinking of getting a trailer for my wheeler, one small enough I can pull behind the wheeler as well as behind the truck. I was wondering well the wheeler would pull behind the wheeler in the snow.

Had some luck with the Blue Gills today, after dark a couple of Crappies ended up in the pail, no eyes though I think  the weather system may have shut them down for a few days.
I only work so that I can afford to fish, hunt, & farm
