March 6 looks do-able - I hope --- 'cause I've not been on the ice so far this winter <sigh> - still working on wood work from this summer's remodel - I hope to be done by then.

Dont worry about not having fancy gear, because neither do we! One nice part about these get together is playing with other guys gear to see if you like it. There will be enough power augers out there to drill holes for the guys who are still hand cranking. If you can find a rod and a few jigs, we will get you fishing! The GTG is about BS and fun, not power fishing all day.

I`ll be on mil lacs the thusday- friday before the get together looking for a spot in walkon bay if any body wants to join me they may do so but i will warn you i`ll be power fishing !

Any problems meeting at wahkon bay at 9-10 am ? I'll post my cell number the day before the event. Bring what ever you need to catch perch and ell pout crappies /sunnies.. If you get there late i will be driving a black chevy ext. cab and be wearing a bright green/orange vest til noon then your own your own...

I am Mille Lacs 'illiterate' - so I has to ask.....

I am eyeballing the DNR Mille Lacs S. map right now - are you are referring to the bay DNR calls 'Wakon Bay'? Has a island in it called Nulvey Is.....

Maybe the town of Wahkon on St Hwy 27, SW of Fr Hennepin St Park?

Is there a public landing there?

As a followup question - what are snow conditions on the ice like - depth, etc?

I have 4wd in the truck, but don't have a wheeler or running <sigh> snowmobile....

Am assuming - since none has been mentioned, that we won't be getting on the ice via
a resorts road system....

This is why i asked if we all wanted ? Or would you rather go back to sun set bay resort its north of isle on hwy 47.. I did chat a little with paul from sunset bay resort and he said the perch bit is starting to heat up.. Let me know where you want to go and i will set it up !
