Well i put on a few miles today and found many small lakes and ponds frozen over.. Wont be long now !

Como Lake in St. Paul was frozen completely over this morning.

This still sucks, we are like three weeks behind right now. Any other year we would be on the ice by now.

Yep, today is the last above freezing day here and the 10 day is all below freezing and I am into it

I checked my local backwater today and found 1/2" but melting by shore even by the woods. But from now on we are making ice fellers

I stopped by shrivers bait in walker and no one was in there but me

. I looked for bait but just found the nasty fridge. This guy needs to clean up his act.

Finally the bait man came and told me to forget about it $:-\$

Yes, it's finally getting cold. I'm still bummed I was fishing by this time last year, but what can a guy do? More time to get organized and spend more money I guess!

I better be fishing in two weeks.

Smaller lakes have 2 inches near shore and locked up. Skim ice on medium sized lakes. Didn't bother with larger bodies. Fishing next week for sure as long as the temps stay as predicted!! About flippin' time!! WHOOO HOOOO!!

I didn't have time to stop and check the ice thickness, but there were several portable shacks way out on Pokegama on my way to work yesterday! I know what I'm doing when I get home from work in the morning!

i ran into about 10 inches of ice on tuesday nite. Won't be long before i can put the wheeler away and get the big house out!

6"-8" where i have fished so far in the brainerd lake area this week and making more everyday !
