This season's purchase...
« on: Oct 30, 2009, 10:49 AM »
Each year, I try to aquire an additional piece of ice gear, or to upgrade something I already have.

This years purchase is a Fishtrap Pro - found a used one locally for $200. I need to put the wear strips
on it and find a tow bar, so I can pull it w/ my sled.

How about the rest of you?

I bought a snowmobile and overhauled the engine last summer. Nothing can stop me now!

I think an Ice Armor get up is in my future, I need some cold weather wear for sure. I have the UHMW on its way from US Plastics to make runners on my Voyager too.

I bought a Garmin GPSMAP 60Csx with a Lakemaster MN card. Tom and I have used it a little for soft water, but I really bought it for the ice.

I came from a GPS 72, a good unit but bare bones. I cant imagine a GPS working any better or being easier to use than the 60csx. You can see the screen quite well in bright sunlight, some units you cant.

After 10 years of hand drilling with an OLD 7inch mora, I finally broke down and got the power auger. A 2hp 8" magnum with the solo engine. I'm just glad the hand drilling days are over.....hopefully :-\

Vexilar Cold Snap suit is on my list, as well as a new pair of boots.   I love my old Rocky Snowstalker Extremes, but they are shot after 12 years.  I'm looking now at the Blizzard Stalkers.

Im still looking to buy a H20c and lakemaster chip, cover for the portable, and either buy or make uhmw runners

If you are set on the H20c, compare the Navionics and Lakemaster lake lists before you buy. I just went through the whole lake chip ordeal, and it can be a bit confusing....
